When visiting Kraków, you will likely arrive at the John Paul II International Airport Kraków–Balice (KRK). There are two main transportation options to reach the city center:
Taxis are available 24/7 just outside the arrivals terminal, and a typical ride to central Kraków costs around 100 PLN (approximately $25), with a travel time of 20–30 minutes depending on traffic.
A convenient train service operates between the airport and Kraków Główny (Main Station) approximately every 30 minutes, taking about 20 minutes. Multiple bus lines (e.g., 208, 252, 902 night bus) also connect the airport to different parts of the city.
If you arrive by train or bus at Kraków Główny, you have several options to reach the MCB:
Trams and buses (e.g., tram 52 or bus 194) provide regular service to the Ruczaj campus area, where MCB is located. The exact stops will be announced in the local timetables or visible via the city’s JakDojade app.
Taxis are plentiful in front of the station, costing around 30–40 PLN ($8–$10) to MCB, with an approximate 15-minute ride depending on traffic.
Drivers can take the A4 motorway or main urban routes toward the Ruczaj district. Parking is available near the campus, but be mindful of local parking restrictions.
You can use local transit apps such as JakDojade to help plan your route within Kraków. If you have any questions or need additional guidance regarding your arrival or transportation, feel free to reach out to the organizers. We look forward to welcoming you at the MCB of Jagiellonian University!
